CHED XII Conducts Graduate Teacher Education Program Evaluation at Holy Trinity College of General Santos City

 

GENERAL SANTOS CITY — August 13, 2026 — Holy Trinity College of General Santos City (HTC) welcomed the Joint Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT)-CHED Regional Office XII for an evaluation of its Graduate Teacher Education Program offerings, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to quality, compliance, and continuous improvement in graduate education.

The evaluation was conducted pursuant to the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office XII’s monitoring of Graduate Teacher Education Program offerings in compliance with CMO No. 15, Series of 2019, which provides the policies, standards, and guidelines for Graduate Teacher Education. The evaluation was formally scheduled through a letter dated August 10, 2026, addressed to HTC School President Dr. Rey T. Albano.

The programs evaluated included the Master of Arts in Education (MAEd) with majors in Educational Management, Educational Administration, English, Filipino, Mathematics, and Guidance and Counseling, all of which have existing government recognition.

Leading the evaluation team were Dr. Rowena V. Sosas, Dr. Jeanne Y. Aure, and Dr. Mark Gennesis B. Dela Cerna of the Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT). Representing CHED Regional Office XII were Dr. Annabelle R. Dafielmoto, Supervising Education Program Specialist and Teacher Education Focal, and Dr. Zohrahaydah N. Panawidan, Chief Education Program Specialist.

The HTC delegation was led by Dr. Rey T. Albano, School President, together with Atty. Josemar T. Albano, School Provost; Dr. Marilou E. Albano, Vice-President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Ruby L. Tamayo, Vice-President for Administration; Dr. Charis G. Oraiz, Quality Assurance Officer; Dr. Lily Grace M. Morales, Graduate School Dean; Dr. Lilibeth Roa-Bagtas, MAEd Program Dean; and Dr. Haya Jane E. Elan, Research Director.

Also in attendance were faculty and graduate school personnel, namely Dr. Nemesio F. Ocampo Jr., Dr. Roy T. Tribunalo, Dr. Pablo E. Eulatic Jr., Dr. Allan Jay Cordova, Prof. Tobias A. Flores, Ms. Queenie Rose D. Lloveras, Graduate School Secretary, and Mr. Ron Ashley Ferandos, Graduate School Staff.

The evaluation provided an avenue for HTC to demonstrate its academic practices, faculty expertise, research initiatives, student support systems, institutional resources, and quality assurance mechanisms in the delivery of its graduate teacher education programs. The presence of key officials, faculty members, and non-teaching personnel further highlighted the institution’s collective commitment to meeting CHED standards and sustaining quality education.

The conduct of the RQAT evaluation underscores Holy Trinity College’s continuing efforts to strengthen its graduate programs and ensure that its academic offerings remain responsive to national standards and the evolving needs of educators and learners.

More than an institutional compliance activity, the evaluation reflects HTC’s pursuit of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement in higher education, supporting its vision of producing competent and empowered education professionals who can contribute meaningfully to their communities and the broader education sector.
