A Plastic-Free Campus: HTC Implements Single-Use Plastic Ban Across All Campuses

Holy Trinity College of General Santos City, Inc. is taking a step toward a cleaner and more environmentally responsible campus through its institutional ban on single-use plastics, effective October 28, 2026. Announced through the Office of the President, the directive prohibits the use of disposable plastic items across all College facilities and campuses as part of its commitment to environmental sustainability.

The prohibition covers plastic bags, plastic bottles, plastic straws, Styrofoam cups, and other disposable plastic products. Students, faculty, staff, and other members of the Trinitarian community are encouraged to adopt reusable alternatives, including tumblers, eco-bags, and food containers, to reduce plastic waste generated within the institution.

Through this initiative, HTC promotes responsible consumption and encourages the campus community to take an active role in reducing waste and protecting the environment. By making the reduction of single-use plastics an institutional responsibility, the College aims to establish more sustainable everyday practices and maintain a cleaner, greener learning environment.

The policy reflects HTC’s commitment to environmental stewardship and collective action. With the cooperation of the entire Trinitarian community, the College hopes to make sustainability an integral part of campus life and contribute to broader efforts toward environmental protection.
