Manila, Philippines – Joana Gene Patling, LPT, Coordinator of Student Personnel Services (SPS), Student Affairs and Development Officer (SADO), and adviser of the Supreme Student Council (SSC) at Holy Trinity College of General Santos City, reached a career milestone after completing the PACSA COAP Training-Workshop for Campus Organization Advisers of the Philippines 2025 held on August 22–25 at the Manila Grand Opera Hotel.

Patling’s successful completion of the training paves the way for her formal recognition as a Certified Organization Adviser of the Philippines (COAP). She will don her COAP sablay and present her research output at the 44th PACSA Annual National Convention and 5th International Conference set for November 26–29, 2025, at Teachers’ Camp, Baguio City.

Representing Holy Trinity College on the national stage, Patling’s achievement affirms HTC’s dedication to nurturing student leadership and strengthening partnerships with other academic institutions across the country. The experience also enhanced her skills as a student affairs practitioner and deepened her commitment to student development.

Reflecting on the training, Patling described it as “a meaningful and insightful experience.” She emphasized several key lessons: the importance of instilling values, fostering student identity and trust, and providing a safe space for collaboration. She also highlighted the need for advisers to understand legal responsibilities, enforce institutional policies diligently, and explore the use of artificial intelligence to support academic and administrative tasks. Additionally, she noted the significance of giving students opportunities for community engagement to promote holistic growth.

“Overall, it was a great opportunity for me to learn, as I advocate for student welfare and development,” she shared, underscoring her vision of guiding students not just academically but also in their character formation and life skills.

As Patling prepares for her recognition in November, her achievement stands as both a personal triumph and a testament to Holy Trinity College’s enduring mission of excellence in student leadership and development.
