HTC Teacher Educators Explore Ethical AI Integration at National and International Convention
The College of Teacher Education (CTE) of Holy Trinity College of General Santos City (HTC) strengthened its commitment to innovation and quality teacher preparation through its participation in the 55th Philippine Association for Teachers and Educators (PAFTE) National and 16th International Convention, held on October 15–16, 2026, at the Manila Prince Hotel in Ermita, Manila.
Carrying the theme “AI with Conscience: Ethics, Equity and Excellence in Education,” the convention provided a platform for educators and academic leaders to engage in discussions on the responsible integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in teaching and learning.
Representing HTC CTE were Dr. Nemesio F. Ocampo, Jr., CTE Dean; Prof. Jennifer Mae Inojales, BPED and BCAEd Program Head; and Prof. Junnel B. Albano, BSEd Program Coordinator. Their participation reflects the college’s continuing efforts to strengthen faculty competencies, embrace educational innovations, and remain responsive to the evolving needs of the teaching profession.
As artificial intelligence continues to influence educational practices, the convention underscored the importance of ensuring that technological advancements are guided by ethical principles, inclusivity, and professional responsibility. AI offers opportunities to enhance instructional planning, enrich learning experiences, and address diverse student needs, but its use must remain anchored in teachers’ professional judgment, academic integrity, and meaningful human interaction.
For HTC CTE, artificial intelligence is viewed as a tool to support—not replace—the essential role of educators. Its responsible application can help improve teaching strategies and learning outcomes while ensuring that every student receives equitable and purposeful educational opportunities.
Through continuous professional development and engagement with the broader educational community, Holy Trinity College remains committed to preparing future educators who can navigate emerging technologies with competence, discernment, and integrity.
By promoting the ethical and inclusive use of AI in education, HTC CTE continues to advance its mission of developing future-ready teachers who uphold academic excellence and prioritize the holistic development of every learner.
